Status in Nova Scotia
Uncommon. The Maritimes Butterfly Atlas S-rank for this species is "S3: Uncommon, or found only in a restricted range, even if abundant at some locations (21 to 100 occurrences)."

Flight Period
Very few records. To date, there are 3 records in Nova Scotia for the Maritimes Butterfly Atlas.

Habitat
Black Spruce-Tamarack bogs.

Larval Foodplants
Black Spruce (Picea mariana).

Similar Species in Nova Scotia
Superficially similar to all of our Elfins, especially to Eastern Pine Elfin and Hoary Elfin.
